Vasai Virar Holy Family Church (Bhuigaon, Nallasopara)
Holy Family Church (bhuigaon, nallasopara)

Estd. in 1946
The problems of people in Bhuigaon were similar to the problems of people staying at Gaas. Both these villages had no option but the Holy Cross Church at Nirmal to perform there religious ceremonies. The distance was far and proper roads and pathways were not available. The monsoons used to cut this region from the main stream and hence there was a need for a church or similar facility were religious offerings could be made in there villages itself. Fr. Remedio Azwedo followed this problem to the Arch Bishop and finally Bhuigaon as a independent religious district was formed on 2nd June 1946.

The original church was made on a 40 guntas of land that was donated by local farmers. This small church was dedicated to the Holy Family and on 2nd June 1946 the Arch Bishop Gracias inaugurated it. Further efforts by Father Durado the first priest of this church brought glories to this church. He was a disciplined worker who implied the importance of work, culture and education to this region.
The church school was started in 1974, thanks to the efforts taken by Father Rupert “Silva.

The new church laid its foundation in 1982, after crossing many hurdles. This church was inaugurated on 31st May 1984. Today the church also houses other institutions like the Marathi High School, Dispensary and Sewing and Typing classes.
