Vasai Virar St. Paul Church (Nanbhat, Virar)
St. Paul Church (nanbhat, virar)

Est. in 1975
A movement for a independent church for the people of Nanbhat was first initiated by Fr. Mendis in 1949, soon after Umarale was separated from the main Nandhakal dharmagram. Fortunately Farshya Duma Lop, a religious native came ahead offering his land for the church cause. Others followed by donating whatever best they could and in 1953 Fr. Sebastin Vaz priest at Nandhakal Church laid the foundation for the church.

However it took some more years to actually start the construction as it was postponed owing to the big school coming up at Nandhakal.
In 1975 Fr. Micheal D’Souza took charge of the affairs at Nanbhat and the costruction of new church building started. The new church building was completed in 1979 and Arch Bishop of Mumbai inaugurated it. This church was dedicated to St. Paul.
